Morrissey paid tribute to the Manchester United players who died in the Munich air disaster when he appeared at Leeds First Direct Arena.

The former singer of The Smiths appeared at the Leeds city centre on Friday evening and during the set he paid an emotional tribute.

Fans of the musician took to social media to praise the performer when he gave a rendition of song Munich Air Disaster 1958 midway through his set.

The song was accompanied by a montage of the famous team managed by Sir Matt Busby. The tragedy saw 23 people, many of them Manchester United players, die which sent the world of football into shock.
