Morrissey makes rare TV appearance on James Corden's Late Late Show

Morrissey made a rare TV appearance on James Corden's Late Late Show

The former Smiths frontman wore a T-shirt with his own face on it as he covered the Pretenders' "Back on the Chain Gang".

He was accompanied by the five members of his backing band, all of whom were wearing T-shirts with the words "Living bodies that actually move" on them.

The musicians have worn T-shirts with that same message on stage in the past.

Morrissey's performance drew cheers and claps from the audience, who stood up as the singer covered the 1982 hit.

Last month, Morrissey announced that a cover of Back on the Chain Gang would appear on a reissue of his latest studio album, Low in High School, as noted by NME.

The album was released in November last year.

A video for the cover released last month sees Morrissey playing the guitar, though he went instrument-free during his performance on Corden's show.
