Morrissey accuses of Obama of ‘being white on the inside’

Morrissey has suggested President Obama is probably “white on the inside” over his inaction during the killings of black men by white police officers that sparked riots in America.

In a rare, candid interview with the veteran talk show host Larry King, the Smiths frontman criticised Obama for his disinterest in Ferguson and for not “helping his own people” with the ongoing issue of police brutality.

When asked by King what his opinion of the President's time in office was, he replied: “I don’t think with places like Ferguson and so on that he has really helped his own people by being more interested in forgetting about the police machinery and constantly saying ‘the police are always right’, ‘we must listen to the police’, when everybody knows that’s not true.

“So is Obama, is he white inside? It’s a very logical question, but I think he probably is.”

Morrissey made a similar comment during an interview with Alternative Nation in June, where he described his disappointment at Obama’s perceived lack of empathy.

“There is an obvious racial division in America and it’s exploding and Obama doesn’t ever support the innocent black people who are murdered by white police officers who are never held accountable.”

Morrissey is no stranger to controversy, having made a number of provocative statements in recent years, such as calling for Jamie Oliver to be gassed for killing “more animals that McDonald’s”, comparing consuming meat to paedophilia and claiming he was “delighted” to witness a bull gore a “serial killer” matador in Mexico City.
