Morrisons unveil huge new food range and some customers aren't happy

Morrisons revealed a new range of products on Tuesday morning and they have been met with a decidedly mixed reaction.

The supermarket chain shared details of its new Plant Revolution line of plant-based items on its Facebook page.

The products, including hot dogs, bean burgers, and tikka masala, are geared towards vegans and other people who do not or cannot eat meat.

Alongside the post, Morrisons wrote: "For the part-time plant eaters, the fully fledged flexitarians and the purely plant based... Plant Revolution is all about plant based food with zero compromise on flavour!

"Check out our NEW Plant Revolution range, the ideal vegan alternatives to some of your favourite dishes."

Within hours, the post had attracted almost 100 likes and over 50 comments - many of which were unenthusiastic about the vegan products.

One wrote: "Morrisons you would be far better off supporting local produce and British farmers!"

A second shared: "Why can’t you do low carb and cater for diabetics? Bringing a veggie is a life choice being diabetic isn’t and we aren’t catered for at all".

Another simply wrote: "Thanks but no thanks".

"Not for me thanks," a fourth similarly commented.

However, not all Morrisons shoppers were disappointed by the announcement.

"Some of it is really good tbh," said one shopper.

Another posted: "Just scroll past if it's not your choice rather than post comments about noticing it. Each to their own".

"These look good," a third Facebook user wrote after tagging their friend.
