Supermarket giant Morrisons is to hire 3,000 new staff members to help meet increased demand expected this Christmas.
The supermarket thinks this year's festive period will be even busier than usual as customers try to make up for last year’s restricted celebrations caused by lockdown.
Morrisons will be hiring staff for its distribution centres and manufacturing sites across the country to keep up with demand, the Mirror reports.
The roles that will be available range from warehouse and production operatives, to pickers and packers as well as roles such as fork lift truck drivers.
The supermarket will give full training for all roles and says no prior experience is needed.
Morrisons has also joined the Kickstart scheme, meaning it welcomes applications from 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit.
Staff at the business get at least £10 an hour, as well as a 10% staff discount.
Morrisons people director Clare Grainger said: "Customers have told us that they want to make up for last year’s low-key festive season and so we are working hard to make sure that our shelves are stocked with everything they need to help them celebrate.
"We are looking for 3,000 Christmas helpers to come and join our busy, fast-moving and exciting team on a temporary or permanent basis and help make good things happen this Christmas.”
It comes days after US private equity firm CD&R won an auction to buy Morrisons.
The £7bn ($9.5bn) bid for the UK's fourth-largest supermarket chain from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) just trumped an offer from rival suitor Fortress.
And the chairman of supermarket chain Morrisons has insisted the supermarket will be able to deliver a "good" Christmas for customers despite supply chain issues.
Morrisons was founded in Bradford in 1899 - where it still has its headquarters. The group has almost 500 shops and more than 110,000 staff.
