Morrisons shoppers fume over big change coming next week

Morisons is making a big change to its More Card next week - and some shoppers aren't happy.

From May 10, shoppers won't be able to collect points, as it makes the transition to digital-only offers on its app, Birmingham Live reports.

Shoppers will instead get offers in pounds - rather than points - which will cut the price of certain items instead of allowing you to build up your points.

Morrisons explains: "We have listened to our customers and they tell us they prefer to be rewarded with money off offers and instant rewards, instead of building up points."

"Customers tell us they want to give back to their communities and support the environment by living plastic and paper-free, where possible.

"In response we are removing points and moving to a money off and instant rewards based programme delivered through the More App on your mobile phone and website."

But despite the supermarket saying this is what shoppers wanted, some are not happy.

One said: "And what about those of us that shop on line - reading that right vouchers can only be used in the shop?

"I’ve only recently switched to Morrison’s online and already the 10% NHS discount has gone from on line...... guess I may be switching to another supermarket!"

Another agreed, saying: "What about the people who don't own a phone so can't get the money off vouchers who have been loyal to Morrisons. Bad move Morrisons loyalty is a 2 way thing. Think I will do more of my shopping at Aldi in future."

"Well I'm elderly and don't have a phone so I won't be shopping at Morrisons any more; disgraceful treatment of shoppers," said another.

"What they are proposing just won't suit me at all," said one shopper..

They added: "They will reduce prices on a select few items - usually ones I don't eat. I liked this way and I used to save points until a special event then used them. I also feel that their prices have gone up quite a bit, so have started shopping at Sainsbury's."
