A Morrisons security guard has been hailed a 'legend' after he was snapped covering a golden retriever from the rain with an umbrella.
The picture was taken outside Morrisons in Giffnock on Sunday morning, as the bad weather battered down on Scotland, the kind security guard decided to protect the pup from the rain by shielding him with a large umbrella.
Mel Gracie tweeted the sweet picture and said: "Shout out to this @Morrisons security man keeping this good boy dry. He said ‘well you never know how dogs feel about the rain’
The post has received over 23,000 likes and many were quick to praise the man for his kindness with some even calling for him to get a pay rise.
One person replied: "That is amazing. The fella was like ‘I don’t mind the rain.. but the dog might not fancy it’"
Another added: "Some heroes wear hi-viz jackets."
One wrote: "Just beautiful.. this man deserves a pay rise."
"This is what I needed to see today . Give that man a raise!!" one added.
And another penned: "Can this employee be recognised for going above and beyond?"
And Morrisons even replied to Mel's tweet saying: "Adorable!"
And the dog's owner couldn't believe when he spotted that his pooch Jem had went viral.
Jack Dudgeon posted: "I'm not being funny but I think this is my dog... my dog is twitter famous...!"
Jack's girlfriend Chloe said: "Jem lives with my boyfriend and his family, so they were certainly surprised to see the picture and the response it's gotten - but Jem always loves a bit of attention from strangers so I'm sure he's enjoying the fame. Jem actually loves the rain, and did need a good wash after his walk, but I'm sure he was very thankful for the security guard.
Jem the dog was also said to be delighted at the attention and was very flattered to receive such VIP treatment.
