Morrisons has officially announced the reopening of its cafes - in a whole new way.
The supermarket giant has announced the launch of its new hot food-to-go service in all 403 of its UK cafes.
Shoppers can choose from a range of takeaway meals for the whole family, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner options from £1.95.
With the launch of the new service it is believed Morrisons will become the nation’s largest fish and chips takeaway selling two million portions-a-year, reports Birmingham Live .
The best-selling fish and chips, which comes with bread and butter, will be available on promotion at £10 for two portions.
All items on the menu are prepared by hand in Morrisons Cafés and packaged in new cardboard takeaway boxes.
For the opening, customers can also get their hands on a much-loved bacon or sausage sandwich plus a hot drink for £1.95; or can even treat themselves to afternoon tea for two for £10 – or £15 with the addition of Prosecco.
Marianne Jones, Head of Café Operations at Morrisons, said: “Our customers love our cafes.
“Some dine with us a number of times a week and many have told us they’ve been waiting for their return.
“So we’ve been working behind the scenes to bring back some of our most popular dishes at great prices as we continue to feed the nation.”
Due to essential social distancing measures in the Cafés, customers can order their takeaway by calling Morrisons national takeaway hotline number 0330 808 9733.
Customers will be asked to give their postcode, select their local store, and will then be transferred to their store’s Café team who will take their order.
Alternatively customers can visit the Cafe when in store to place their order. All meals will be ready for collection half an hour after the order is placed. Deliveroo is also available in some locations.
