Morrisons recalls chicken pies found to contain 'fish and mustard'

Morrisons is recalling its ‘traditional chicken and mushroom pie’ from stores as a small number of them contain a fish pie instead.

The fish and mustard pie is not mentioned on labelling and has been deemed by the Foods Standards Agency as a possible health risk for those with an allergy to either ingredient.

The supermarket says chicken pies should be returned to the store where the purchase was made.

Morrisons has specifically identified ‘traditional chicken and mushroom pie’ products in 400g packs with a use-by date of 4 December 2017 to be returned.

The retailer is Britain’s fourth largest supermarket group and the fastest growing of the ‘Big Four’ supermarket chains in the UK.

Morrisons reported its eight straight quarter of underlying growth in November as it pursues online and wholesale markets .

Earlier in November, budget supermarket chains Aldi and Lidl pulled several products from their shelves after some items, including chocolate and coated peanuts, were found to contain potentially harmful allergens.
