Morrisons opening times and when it's quietest for picking up essentials

The second week of this country-wide lockdown has left many feeling overwhelmed and dealing with queues at supermarkets is probably the last thing many people want.

So thankfully Morrisons has shared when its stores are typically at its quietest so shoppers know when they are best visiting.

The retailer took to its official Twitter feed to thank its customers for continuing to shop so "considerately" as well as adding its "generally less busy later in the day", reports MyLondon.

On Twitter, the supermarket wrote: "Thank you to our customers for continuing to shop considerately.

"We're generally less busy later in the day so if you'd like to shop when it's quieter, and are able to, try visiting us in the afternoon to get the essentials you need."

Sunday opening times have also changed and a new statement has been posted on the Morrisons website.

It reads: "On Sundays we will open at 9am for our very hard working NHS workers to shop.

"We will open at 9.30am for all other customers to shop normally.

"Therefore, during the period of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Sunday browsing hour is suspended, as you can shop normally from 9.30am each Sunday."

The tweet comes after Morrisons caused a frenzy among shoppers following the release of its £35 essentials food box.

Demand for the box, which includes a selection of essential food products for both meat eaters or vegetarians although shoppers won't know exactly what products are inside until it arrives.
