Morrisons lowers price of hundreds of products - from sirloin steaks to fruit and vegetables

Morrisons is reducing the price of hundreds of products from today to help customers save money on their groceries.

From Monday, January 23, 820 more products will see their prices reduced, taking the total number of cuts to over 1,000 this month. All price cuts will be locked for a minimum of eight weeks, Morrisons has confirmed.

The lower prices apply to fresh produce as well as a string of cupboard essentials, with an average saving of 20%. Household brands such as Warburtons, Patak’s and Dettol will feature among Morrisons own brands.

The items that have been lowered and locked include sirloin steaks, fruit and vegetables like potatoes, pears and aubergines, sandwich fillers and sweet treats. Household essentials such as kitchen rolls, shampoo and washing detergents have also been included in the cut.

Earlier this month, Morrisons cut the price of 130 of its lowest priced Savers products including fresh items, freezer favourites and household essentials. It also offered a 5p off a litre of fuel promotion, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Chief executive David Potts said: "Today’s cuts demonstrate our continued commitment to doing all we can to help when it comes to the cost of grocery shopping. In addition to the cuts we made to the Savers range at the start of the month and then our fuel promotion, we’re now cutting the price on even more popular products to help make a positive difference to the pockets of our customers."

Here are a few of the products that will be reduced from today:

  • Morrisons British sirloin steak 227g - was £4.85 now £4.35

  • Morrisons two breaded chicken kievs 260g - was £2.60 now £2.25
