Morrisons supermarket has launched a ‘Gingerbread Prince’ to celebrate the Duke of Sussex's first Father’s Day as a dad.

The smiling biscuit is decorated with ginger hair and a military uniform made of icing, while the label features a crown and the Union Jack.

Prince Harry, a former British Army serviceman, and the Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first son – Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor – into the world six weeks ago.

“We’ve created a special gingerbread biscuit to pay tribute to the royal couple, as they celebrate the Prince’s first Father’s Day,” said John Cannan, a Morrisons cake shop manager.

The British food retailer is also selling ‘Design Your Own Gingerbread Man’ kits for £2, so that customers can create edible homages to their own fathers.

The kits – complete with coloured writing icing and sugar coated chocolate beans – and the Gingerbread Prince are on sale from Tuesday, June 4, in all of Morrisons 494 stores.

This year’s Father’s Day will take place on June 16.
