Calling all vegans as Morrisons has launched a new limited edition Christmas Gingerbread Doughnut. Prepared fresh daily by Morrisons in-store bakers, they come in packs of five costing just 50p – that’s 10p each.

Morrisons doughnuts are famous for being “accidentally vegan” and this festive offering is no exception.
They have a fluffy moist outer and are finished with a dusting of sugar. They are filled with a rich and comforting plant-based ginger cream custard - made from an intense blend of spices, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.
These Gingerbread doughnuts sound like the perfect afternoon treat with a cup of tea or just to share with friends and family at a distance. Should you choose to eat them all yourself, no judgement here as we’d do the same.
Inspired by Morrisons famous gingerbread men and its renowned filled doughnuts, the recipe has been specially created so they are suitable for vegans and those on dairy-free diets.
Each doughnut is made from scratch each day by its craft skilled bakers in Morrisons stores. They are filled and sugared by hand.
Andy Clarke, Bakery Buyer at Morrisons said: “We’d seen gingerbread lattes going down a storm - and had an idea to mash up our famous gingerbread men with our filled doughnuts. Customers tell us our filled doughnuts are the best ‘accidentally vegan’ doughnuts they’ve found - so we’ve made sure that this recipe was no exception.”
Morrisons is also stocking vegan mince pies that have a ground almond based pastry, vegan maple crumble mince pies packed with raisins, sultans, apple puree and hand finished with a maple crumb topping and a vegan Christmas pudding, filled with dried fruits, glace cherries, cider, cognac, brandy and pecan nuts.
