Supermarket chain Morrisons is launching a new limited edition sandwich that has all the flavours of a classic British pub favourite - ham, egg and chips.
The new edition Morrisons sarnie will be available to buy as part of the retailer's £3.50 meal deal, which includes the choice of any sandwich or salad, a snack and a drink, for the next 12 weeks.
The sandwich, made on seeded white bread, includes a combination of roasted potato chips, hard boiled free-range eggs and thinly sliced ham, with a dash of flame roasted chutney and creamy mayonnaise to complete the winning flavour combo.
Rob Gallagher, Food to Go Buyer at Morrisons , said: “Customers told us that they loved the flavours of pub classics and that they were always looking out for more adventurous sandwich fillings and so we have combined them to create our new Ham, Egg and Chips sandwich.”
The sandwich is one of a number of new editions that form part of the supermarket's Food To Go range that shoppers can currently pick up for their bargain lunch.
Newer fillings include Fig & Wensleydale, a vegan-friendly Carrot, Lettuce and Tomato, a Chicken Dinner option and a Chicken Yorkshire Pudding Wrap for those who want the taste of a roast any day of the week for lunch.
Earlier this year Morrisons introduced another unconventional sandwich option for hungry customers , rolling out a Bratwurst & Sauerkraut option as part of a lunchtime menu shake up.
The quirky limited edition sandwich's ingredients included onion bread, beef & pork sausage, sauerkraut and mustard as well as the welcomed addition of crispy fried onion, mayo and onion chutney.
