Morrisons launch ham, egg and chips sandwich - would you try it?

If you find yourself getting stuck for choice at lunchtime and can’t decide between a humble sarnie or a trip to the chippy, this unique combo from Morrisons could be just the answer.

The supermarket chain has released a limited edition new sandwich inspired by a British pub classic - and it's bound to divide the lunchtime faithful.

The ham, egg and chips sandwich is available as part of the Morrison's £3.50 meal deal, which includes the choice of any sandwich or salad, a snack and a drink, for the next 12 weeks.

It’s made on seeded white bread and includes a combination of roasted potato chips, hard boiled free-range eggs and thinly sliced ham - topped with a dash of flame roasted chutney and creamy mayonnaise to complete the winning flavour combo.

Rob Gallagher, Food to Go buyer at Morrisons,  told the Daily Mirror : "Customers told us that they loved the flavours of pub classics and that they were always looking out for more adventurous sandwich fillings and so we have combined them to create our new Ham, Egg and Chips sandwich."

It's already provoked a strong reaction, with one Twitter user saying: "Quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. Cold egg is like actual sick."
