Morrisons is offering all NHS workers a special discount on their shopping

Morrisons is offering a discount on NHS staff's shopping to support them through the Covid-19 pandemic.

From Thursday, April 16, the nation's 1.5 million NHS workers will receive 10% off their shopping at Morrisons stores across the UK.

The offer will last until July 12 when it will be reviewed. NHS staff should present a valid ID card at the checkout to have the discount applied.

Morrisons, and other major supermarkets, have already introduced an "NHS hour" at the beginning of the day to give key workers access to the essential supplies they need to continue the UK's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Frontline essential workers can take advantage of priority shopping slots at Morrisons every day from 6-7am, and from 9-9:30am on Sundays.

A click and collect service is also being introduced by Morrisons at 22 hospitals this week. This will allow NHS staff to order their groceries to be collected from hospital car parks at the end of their shift.

David Potts, Morrisons chief executive, said: “This discount is our thank you to all those working in the National Health Service at this very difficult time. We are giving them our full support and gratitude as they continue to care for and support the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
