One of Ayr's biggest supermarkets is to limit purchases on items amid fears of a return to panic buying.
The town's Morrisons said that from this morning, a range of items would only be available in maximum quantities of two or three.
It follows the government's announcement on Tuesday night that coronavirus restrictions would be returning, with a 10pm curfew on bars and restaurants.
People have also been banned from visiting other households indoors.
Morrisons said: "Following the recent Government announcement, we've seen an increase in demand on key products.
"Therefore we are introducing maximum quantities on selected products from Thursday morning."
