Morrisons has made a change to petrol for people making essential journeys

Last night, Boris Johnson announced that people in England will now be able to drive to different areas to get exercise.

The Prime Minister also said that people who can't work from home are also able to return to work, provided it's safe.

But with public transport still presenting a very real risk of spreading the virus, workers are being urged to drive, walk or cycle to work.

The announcements mean that we may all be using more petrol than we have for a good few weeks (if not months), and we'll have to get used to paying for it once again.

However, supermarket giant Morrisons has come up with a brilliant solution, by lowering the price of its petrol.

Morrisons has now announced that, as a thank you to all key workers and other motorists making essential journeys, it will be lowering the price of petrol and diesel.

From this morning, the price of unleaded petrol will be 99.7p per litre, while diesel will be reduced to 104p per litre.

A spokesman for the supermarket has said: "To say thank you to all key workers and other motorists making essential journeys, we're cutting the price of unleaded to 99.7p per litre and diesel to 104.7p per litre from tomorrow morning."
