Morrisons doorstep deliveries are back and they're free if you are elderly or vulnerable

Morrisons has announced that its doorstep delivery service is back and some members of the community can use the service for free.

While the service never really went away, Jodie Kirkham, community champion for the Bulwell store, says: "The demand for the service reduced as people stopped shielding and started to come back into store when the restrictions were eased".

However, with Nottingham now in local Covid alert level high, the service has been extended.

"Anyone self-isolating can use the service and it's free for the elderly and vulnerable.," said Jodie.

"Students are charged £2 and there's a standard fee of £4.50."

She added: "Some older people don't tend to have access or want to use the internet for shopping so this service, which is totally internet-free, is ideal.

"It's easy to use, just ring through to the dedicated telesales shopping service, read out your shopping list - the team will talk you through everything - then you can use chip and pin to pay on the doorstep when groceries arrive."

The supermarket expects home deliveries to be made the following day depending upon what time the order is placed.

Jodie says that in Bulwell, they're keen to search out those who need the services and are asking that neighbours, family and friends spread the word to anyone elderly or vulnerable.

Grocery orders can be made by calling 0345 611 6111 and selecting option 5.
