Morrisons cuts price of fuel in 'biggest reduction in recent times'

Morrisons is cutting the cost of its fuel in the biggest fuel price reduction in recent times.

The supermarket chain has today announced the biggest fuel price reduction in recent times, cutting 12p-a-litre off unleaded and 8p-a-litre off diesel.

The price cut is being made to reduce the cost of motoring for the nation during this "difficult time".

It will be effective on all Morrisons fuel forecourts today.

Ashley Myers, head of fuel for Morrisons, said: "We are playing our full part in reducing the cost of living and feeding the nation.

"This reduction in fuel prices will help motorists to save money at this difficult time. It's more than our job."

For a typical 50-litre fill up, motorists will save £6 on unleaded and £4 on diesel.

The supermarket is introducing an NHS hour at the beginning of every day, apart from Sunday, to allow NHS workers the opportunity to stock up on the products they need during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new hour will be 7am-8am and a Morrisons staff member will be at the door of each store to let staff with an NHS badge in.

Opening hours for other customers are currently set at 8am until 8pm from Monday to Saturday.
