Morrisons customers still need to queue in the rain but there is a sneaky way to avoid it

During lockdown we have all accepted the fact that in order to do our weekly shop, we're more than likely going to have to queue outside our local supermarket first.

However, with rain forecast for the next week, standing outside is less than ideal which is why supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda are trailing queuing systems where customers will be asked to wait in their cars.

Morrisons has taken to its social media channels to inform shoppers that although they will be asked to wait outside its staff will be handing out umbrellas to keep them dry.

The supermarket also reminded shoppers who are only popping in for a few essentials to use the Speedy Shopping Lanes.

Morrisons implemented the lanes across all stores recently and means those using a basket won't have to queue for too long.

The supermarket chain has now started letting three people using baskets into a store for every one person using a trolley for a big shop.

Morrisons said: "No one likes to queue in the rain. We'll be handing out umbrellas for customers queuing outside our stores.

"And remember, if you're just popping in for a few essentials, you can use our Speedy Shopping Lanes."
