Morrisons confirms major change at shops ahead of Christmas

Supermarket giant Morrisons has launched its Christmas Food to Order scheme which allows shoppers to secure items in plenty of time.

The supermarket has opened collection slots for between December 21 and 24 so that shoppers can prepare for the holiday in advance.

And the service is available at 463 branches of Morrisons.

There are 134 items on the menu, including turkeys, party food wine, desserts, a full vegan range and plenty for those who don't consume gluten.

Morrisons says that its chefs and foodmakers have spent a year 'crafting the perfect Christmas range'.

It says that highlights are The Best Scottish Smoke Salmon, triple smoked over oak and cask chippings for 14 hours in Morrisons' own kilns in Grimsby, and a hand cut and trimmed wild venison loin.

Turkeys are priced from £13.96 and for vegans, there's The Best Vegan Vegetable Wellington.

Hannah Kilburn, buying manager at Morrisons, said: "We know how early some of our customers like to plan for Christmas and our festive Food to Order service is going to help them do just that.

"Customers will be able to find everything they need from feasts to feed the family, intimate dinners with a loved one or parties with friends."

Shoppers can book their slot on the website, or head to the customer services point in their local branch.

They'll need to pay a small deposit, but then you pay the balance when you pick your shopping up.
