It was a good night for the supermarkets after Morrisons, Sainsbury's, M&S and Aldi all won big awards at the annual "meat Oscars".
But while Aldi won overall as meat retailer of the year, if you're looking for the best bacon, you're better off at Morrisons.
That's after Morrisons The Best Traditionally Cured Smoked Back Bacon won the "best bacon" category, at the 2019 Meat Management Industry Awards with judges praising its exceptional taste and tenderness, as well as its mouth-watering aroma.
Morrisons Woodheads site manager Matthew Preece said: “Our team pride themselves on taking care of everything – from rearing and buying the livestock from our farmers, right through to the curing and smoking the bacon. We’re confident that this bacon will become a regular on customers’ breakfast tables.”
It won't break the bank, either, costing £2.50 for six rashers.
But if you're looking to fill the rest of your fry up, you should head to M&S for the sausage.
The supermarket's Posh Dogs won the title of Britain's Best Sausage. Described by M&S as meaty and smoky hot dog style sausages, they're a hit with customers too.
One described them as: "Easy to cook, we tried grilling it, searing on pan and baking it. Grilling it gives you a great taste!"
Another said they had a "Lovely flavour, we have tried grilling and frying them and the snap of the casing is fantastic, as is the texture of the innards".
M&S also picked up 'Best Beef Product' and 'Best Red Meat Product' for its Dry Aged Fillet Steak.
Ocado won 'Best Poultry Product' for its Whole British Chicken , while Sainsbury’s took home the award for 'Best Pork/Pigmeat Product' for its Taste the Difference Pork Cutlets - and the better news is they're also currently discounted at £3.75 for two.
