The Queensland Symphony Orchestra are joined by trumpeter James Morrison and bassist Edgar Meyer for a world premier. The Orchestra will play Nielsen’s Maskarade Overture, a work that was based on Holberg’s play Maskarade, and was only completed a week before the opera debut. Morrison and Meyer will join in Max Savikangas’ newly commissioned concerto; and Santtu-Matias Rouvali will conduct Beethoven’s fifth symphony.
