Morphe bans samples and live makeup demonstrations to fight coronavirus spread

Cosmetics brand Morphe has stopped offering customers in-store samples and has temporarily banned live makeup demonstrations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Morphe says it has taken steps to create a 'safe space' for customers and employees by prioritising their health and wellbeing, after following World Health Organisation (WHO) coronavirus guidance.

Morphe - which has a store in Eldon Square , Newcastle - says: "All of our team members, especially our store employees, have been trained on additional safety measures to ensure that we are taking every precaution possible to help protect your health."

As well extra cleaning, disinfecting anything which customers and staff touch, instructing staff to wash their hands and adding more sanitiser dispensers to the shop floor, Morphe has suspended hands-on make up demos and in store make-up classes.

"Instead our Beauty Artists have been instructed to offer guided self-application tips as well as share online tutorials that you can follow at home," Morphe says.

Customers will also no longer be allowed to use in-store tester samples until further notice.

In a statement, Morphe added: "While we have always taken pride in the hygiene standards and cleanliness of our stores, we have implemented these additional measures to reduce the potential for exposure."
