Morph’s step-free art trail is coming to London this summer

The UK’s first-ever step-free art trail, Morph’s Epic Art Adventure is getting ready to kick off in London this summer.

Hosted by Whizz-Kidz, a young person’s mobility charity, in collaboration with Wild In Art and Aardman Animations, the accessible trail aims to make young wheelchair users feel mobile, enabled and included.

Between June 19 and August 20, art lovers and culture seekers of all ages will get to take in over 50 super-sized sculptures of the beloved shapeshifter Morph.

Morph, the main character of the popular stop-motion comedy animation, is known for its unique language, and Plasticine body.

The exhibition will be free for all and be dotted near some of London’s most famous landmarks. It will feature designs by well-known and emerging artists.

One of the super-sized Morphs will be sponsored by National Rail. Entitled On Guard, the piece created by Hannah Lewin will stand 6-foot-tall and take inspiration from the King’s Guards. Visitors can expect a fibreglass Busby, a neat red jacket, and polished shoes. It will be placed at Hay’s Galleria outside London Bridge station.

Another design created by Clarke Reynolds will see Braille dots across Morph’s body, offering a wonderful sensory experience to visitors.

A series of smaller Mini Morph sculptured adopted and designed by schools will also be on display throughout the trail.

A Trail Map and App will help adventure-seekers navigate around the famous streets of London and discover the numerous sculptures to unlock a series of rewards and fun facts.

Plus, National Rail will offer rail passengers the chance to pre-book assistance up to two hours in advance, and customers can get their hands on a £20 Disabled Persons Railcard or a £30 one for non-disabled individuals to have a third off their train fare.

When the exhibition concludes, the super-sized Morph sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for Whizz-Kidz.
