Morocco to Improve Services to Nationals Living Abroad

Morocco’s ministerial committee attending to Moroccans residing abroad and migration affairs held its sixth meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani.

The meeting was devoted to presenting and examining accomplishments on emerging problems and challenges facing Moroccans living abroad.

A statement issued by the prime minister said that Othmani mentioned in his opening speech the special and personal attention paid by King Mohammed VI to the affairs of the Moroccan expatriate community.

He also stressed the need for the ministerial committee to ensure the bringing together various actors on issues pertaining to Moroccan immigrants.

On the other hand, the Othmani referred to the importance of migration and migrants to the national policy of Morocco.

According to the statement, Othmani instructed all public administrations to take good care of the Moroccans during their stay in the homeland. He also thanked the various employees who are exerting their best efforts in this regard.

Othmani also noted that a number of challenges still being discussed require added coordination and greater efforts spent by different sectors concerned.

He said that solutions befitting aspirations of Moroccan immigrants need to be found.

Officials believe that Morocco has adopted a strategic direction when strengthening South-South cooperation in various fields, including the migration.

Discussions held tackled a range of issues related to the affairs of Moroccans living abroad and a number of organizational and field measures aimed at improving the services provided to members of the Moroccan expatriate community.
