Morocco will start giving a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, the Health Ministry said.

The ministry said in a statement Friday that following the recommendations of the Moroccan scientific committee and the international scientific recommendations, the booster jabs will be administered as part of the national vaccination campaign.

The ministry urged all Moroccans and foreigners residing in Morocco to join the process.

Concerned individuals will receive a text message from 1717 to remind them of their eligibility to take the third dose.

The ministry urged the people in Morocco to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures before, during, and after the vaccination process in order to limit the spread of the virus and to reach herd immunity.
