HAINAN, China: Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn is one shot behind leader Feng Shanshan of China heading into Saturday's final round of the Blue Bay LPGA tournament.
Moriya fired seven birdies and three bogeys to finish the third round at 6 under par on Friday, while Feng struggled to a 1-over 73 to hang on to top spot.
Moriya, who has 10 top-ten finishes this year and has earned more than $1.1 million, is still looking for her first LPGA tournament victory. Sister Ariya, who has six wins on the LPGA tour and briefly held the world No.1 spot this year, was at 1 under par after her third round.
"It's been pretty solid so far this week," said Moriya, who has moved up to 25th place in the world rankings. "It just helps to be patient a lot on this golf course. Some lucky bounces and ... I'm really enjoying this week so far."
Feng, the world No.3 who won last week in Japan, had an up-and-down day with three birdies and four bogeys to leave herself at 7-under for 209 overall. She is looking to become the first back-to-back winner of 2017.
"Given that today was actually very, very windy, I really held up ground, especially with my approach shots to the greens," Feng said.
