Morgan Whittaker Rangers transfer bids are 'well below' Swansea's valuation as Russell Martin draws a line under Ibrox links

Swansea City boss Russell Martin has revealed that Rangers’ bids for Morgan Whittaker have been well below the Welsh club’s valuation of the 22-year-old.

Ibrox boss Michael Beale this week claimed he “couldn’t confirm” whether or not the Light Blues had made an offer for the Swans forward, who will be in their squad for Saturday’s game against Beale’s former club Queens Park Rangers. But Martin, a former Gers defender, says they have knocked back multiple bids for Whittaker, who was thought to be keen on making the move to Govan.

But he’s now set to get a chance to impress against the Rs after his displays in training, with Martin keen to “draw a line” under the transfer speculation and get on with playing football. He said: “With Morgan, he's in the squad tomorrow. We've had bids, we've rejected bids, they're quite a way from the club's valuation of Morgan.

"I think we need to draw a line under it. Morgan is in agreement. So he's in the squad tomorrow, we look forward to having him in the squad and we'll take it from there."
