
Canberra is set for more rain on Tuesday following a downpour on Monday afternoon.
The ACT is forecast to reach a top of 27 degrees on Tuesday and there is a 70 per cent chance of rain, which is more likely to fall earlier in the day.
Up to 10 millimetres of rain could fall in the ACT.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that thunderstorm activity is expected and much of the NSW northern and central coasts are forecast to have severe storms.
Severe thunderstorms are possible in the ACT and the bureau has warned this "could produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hail".
Canberrans should keep an eye out for any warnings that may be issued throughout the day.

More than 5 millimetres of rain has been recorded in the ACT since 9am on Monday.
It was far less than areas surrounding the territory, which recorded more than 20 millimetres.
Mount Ginini, on the ACT-NSW border recorded almost 21 millimetres of rain in the same period.
Holidaymakers on the NSW South Coast also experienced heavy rain, with 15 millimetres recorded in Ulladulla and 9 millimetres recorded at Batemans Bay.
The wet weather comes a year after Canberra records were broken as the capital's temperature soared to 44 degrees.
