More tributes flood in after police update on woman found dead at Adelphi Hotel

More tributes have flooded in after police issued an update on the death of a woman at the Adelphi Hotel.

Merseyside Police officers were called to the Britannia-owned hotel in the city centre at 6.37am yesterday (Saturday, September 10) to reports of concern for a woman's safety. When officers arrived at the hotel, they found the body of a 22-year-old woman in a room.

Three men - a 26-year-old from Seacombe, a 46-year-old from Liverpool and a 49-year-old from Widnes - were arrested on suspicion of murder following the woman's death but have now all been released with no further action. Police confirmed this morning the woman's death was accidental.

Speaking yesterday, Detective Chief Inspector Lynsay Armbruster, said: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation, and are trying to determine the circumstances around the young woman's death.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the hotel in the early hours of this morning who may have seen, or heard anything, at all to come forward.

“CCTV enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with any information to please get in touch.”

Today, police issued an update on the investigation. A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "A file is being prepared for the coroner after a post-mortem concluded that a 22-year-old woman, who died at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool city centre, died as a result of accidental death.

"Three men who were arrested on suspicion of murder during the investigation into the unexplained death have been released with no further action."

Following the update, ECHO readers flooded the comment section on our Facebook page to pass on their condolences to the young woman's family. David Luckett said: "My prayers and thoughts for her family," while Debbie O'Reilly commented: "22 years of age- so so young. Condolences to her family and friends."

Lyn Lloyd said: "Rip my thoughts are with the family," and Irene Terry said: "May this young girl rest in peace."

Lynn Jones commented: "Poor girl! Horrible world this is. RIP sweetheart condolences to her family," while Lisa Sweeney said: "Sending big love, hugs and caring thoughts to this gorgeous young woman's family. Rip heavenly angel."

The Adelphi was approached for comment.
