More Than This by Patrick Ness - review

Patrick Ness, More Than This

A boy drowns, desperate and alone in his final moments. He dies.
Then he wakes, naked and bruised and thirsty, but alive.
How can this be? And what is this strange deserted place?

As he struggles to understand what is happening, the boy dares to hope. Might this not be the end? Might there be more to this life, or perhaps this afterlife?

Oh my where do I begin. Lets start with the beginning. To be honest at first it was hard for me to get into the book because it literally made no sense and I was as confused as the main character in the book. If you don't know, the book has different parts and it was at part 2 where I was about to have a heart attack and fall off my seat.

When you say this is a YA book, people always take it as a simple little story that is only written for teenagers to read. I have never in my life thought that a YA book would move me so much.

After reading that short synopsis, how can you not be interested? This book is NOTHING like you expect it to be. You cannot even take a little guess of what world Patrick Ness introduces you to when you open this book. I don't want to sound like I believe YA books are just simple stories because they are definitely not. Most of the books I read are YA. I cannot describe how much they affect me and definitely cannot say in words how More Than This just left me thinking for weeks. It truly scared me. There are some parts that are vague and I think that is the beauty of it. You get the chance to think about it yourself. What I'm trying to say is that don't underestimate the Young Adult genre, even adults should read it.

I won't say more because you have to experience yourself. You can really connect with the characters and the story is SO interesting. You literally wouldn't be able to put it down. So I really recommend you to go pick it up because it's one of my favourite books and it's basically amazing! I loved it! I would give it more than 5/5 if I could.
