More than a quarter of Kilmarnock women would propose to their partner on leap year day

A survey has revealed that more than a quarter of Kilmarnock women would propose to their partners on leap year day.

The study, carried out by Lovehoney, established that 27 per cent of Kilmarnock ladies would take the plunge.

Leap Year Day on February 29 is traditionally the one extra day in the calendar every four years when women can traditionally propose to their partners.

But just over a third of women (35 per cent) say this is an outdated and sexist concept but 48 per cent are okay with it.
