More than 80 pupils are off sick at a popular Cardiff school.

Marlborough Primary School in Roath has been hit with a wave of sickness with dozens of pupils missing classes.

On Thursday it was confirmed 82 pupils and and seven staff members have been absent due to cold and flu-like symptoms this week.

A spokesperson from the school said: "A number of pupils and staff have been absent from school this week with cold and flu-like symptoms.

"Parents and the wider school community have been very supportive of the school during this time and following advice from Public Health Wales, are reminded to keep children home until they have made a full recovery."
