The legendary owner of Slane Castle Lord Henry Mountcharles is among the thousands of revellers in attendance ahead of Metallica's first Irish show since 2009.
Before the main event, a host of prominent rock bands will warm up revellers.

The hefty task of opening proceedings will go to Dublin rockers Fangclub.
