More than 72,000 tests as ACT remains virus-free

More than 72,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the ACT as it recorded the 47th day without a new diagnosis.

It has been almost one month since there was an active case of COVID-19 in the ACT.

ACT Health said 951 negative tests had been returned in the past 24 hours and 72,344 throughout the pandemic.

There has been 110 coronavirus cases in Canberra, of these 110 people have recovered and three people have died.

ACT residents who have recently returned from areas with active COVID-19 cases including greater Sydney have again been reminded to be alert for symptoms and stay up to date on areas where confirmed cases spent time.

"The advice on affected areas is changing regularly, so keep up to date with the latest advice," ACT Health said.

"Please be mindful and aware of how easily the virus spreads. We continue to ask Canberrans to reconsider their need for any unnecessary travel, particularly to areas with COVID-19. We also encourage Canberrans not to invite friends and family from Greater Sydney to the ACT at this time.

"Remember that while travelling, it is your responsibility to maintain physical distancing and practice good hygiene, as well as to adhere to the rules of the jurisdiction to which you are travelling."
