More than 70,000 tests conducted as ACT remains COVID-19 free

The ACT has surpassed another testing milestone as it continued a six-week streak with no COVID-19 cases reported.

More than 70,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the territory throughout the pandemic including 319 in the past 24 hours.

Despite the ACT's strong position, the community have been urged not to get complacent.

"We are reminding any ACT residents who have visited the Sydney region and broader NSW to monitor the NSW Health website for updates on locations where confirmed cases have spent time while potentially infectious and follow any related instructions," ACT Health said in a statement.

"This may include getting tested for even the mildest symptoms."

Canberrans have been urged against unnecessary travel to any areas with COVID-19, and ACT Health has asked residents not to invite visitors from greater Sydney as NSW continues to record new infections.

The state reported four new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm Saturday night.

These included a security guard working at the Sydney Harbour Mariott Hotel where guests were in quarantine.

NSW Health said contact tracing was underway.

Meanwhile, the Kambah drive-through testing site reopened on Sunday after it had been closed due to wet weather.

Testing is also available at Garran oval, Weston Creek and the EPIC drive through site at the weekend.
