More than £7,000 raised for homeless woman who stopped burglary

Over £7,000 has been raised for a homeless woman who stopped a robbery and returned thousands of pounds worth of goods.

According to the fundraising page, Lottie, who regularly sleeps rough on the streets of Oxford, confronted the burglar as he left the LUSH cosmetics store with a box of products and a laptop.

The next day, she returned the box worth over a thousand pounds and the laptop to the store.

The shop owners were so thankful they started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Lottie and homeless charities around Oxford.

Staff at the LUSH store say they "have always felt safer" with her outside the shop.

"We want to share what Lottie did with all of you," they wrote, "because we are greatly moved by her selfless actions in protecting us, and want to thank her from the bottom of our hearts."

They said they will sit down with Lottie when they have the opportunity to update everyone on her well-being, thoughts and wishes.

So far, over £7,200 has been raised.
