More than 7,000 homes in Salford were plunged into darkness this afternoon after losing electricity.
Engineers from Electricity North West say they were contacted at 2.15pm about the power cut, which reportedly hit the M3, M5, M6, and M7 postcodes.
The organisation said it was aware of a power cut affecting 7,911 people living within the M6 postcode - but those affected have now had electricity restored.
“We received reports of a power cut affecting 7,911 properties in Salford at 2:15pm because of a fault on the power network," a spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News.
“We responded immediately and within 30 minutes, power was restored to 5,312 properties using our automated restoration systems.
“If anyone needs any more information during a power cut, they can follow Electricity North West on Twitter or Facebook, see live power cut updates at www.enwl.co.uk/powercuts or call us on 105.”
A further update from the organisation's website, at 3:44pm, confirmed all properties hit by the issue now had electricty again.
On social media, people complained they had also been without power in other areas.
M5, M3 and M7 postcodes were also mentioned as places that had gone without power.
One person said it had been an 'inconvenience' to their working day.
Another said: "I am in M3 and our whole block has gone!"
A different user then asked if they could check M7 postcodes as their house had also lost its power.
Engineers were also called out to Salford just yesterday evening, November 14, after almost 500 homes lost power.
