There were 622 new Covid cases confirmed in Bristol and the surrounding areas today, but no new virus-related fatalities were recorded.
There have now been a total of 49,928 coronavirus cases across the city since the pandemic was declared last year.
There were 288 cases confirmed in the City of Bristol area.

In South Gloucestershire there were 157 new positive coronavirus tests confirmed today while there were 79 in North Somerset.
In nearby Bath and North East Somerset there were 98 new coronavirus cases identified.
The total number of cases confirmed in each region around Bristol, with the daily rise in brackets, are as follows:
- City of Bristol - 49,928 (+288)
- North Somerset - 15,542 (+79)
- South Gloucestershire - 24,882 (+157)
- Bath and North East Somerset - 13,952 (+98)

- City of Bristol - 498 (-)
- North Somerset - 322 (-)
- South Gloucestershire - 354 (-)
- Bath and North East Somerset - 230 (-)
Across the United Kingdom there have been a further 32,700 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said - taking the total across the country to 6,211,868 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
There have also been a further 100 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 130,801.
However there Government data up to August 12 shows that 47,215,352 first doses of the Covid vaccination have been given throughout the UK - a rise of 44,384 on the previous day.
Some 40,206,029 second doses have also now been given, a daily increase of 192,559.
