More than 60 people enjoy Dalbeattie Lawn Tennis Club's open day

Dalbeattie Lawn Tennis Club opened it doors to the community with more than 60 people visiting.

The club showed off the impressive facilities where juniors, adults and disabled players were all catered for.

The open day was part of the Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends which is an LTA initiative to help tennis venues attract new people from the local community to come and try tennis in a friendly and relaxed manner.

Club president Keith Thom said: “There is certainly lots going on at the club with adult and junior coaching and recently the club are piloting cardio tennis classes which is for anyone aged 16 or over.

“We also run members only fun social nights where all capabilities are welcome. We have continued to make tennis affordable to all with various membership options available. As a club we see this as a way of getting into the sport which is a great way of keeping healthy and fit.”

Should anyone wish to attend any of the sessions or take out a membership they should contact a committee member or visit the club’s website and Facebook pages.
