More than €500,000 in cash seized by gardai in massive operation in Co Dublin

Gardai seized more than half a million euro in cash following a massive operation in Co Dublin today.

A man in his 60s was arrested as part of the bust by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

The massive haul came following an intelligence led-operation this evening, Dublin Live reports.

A spokesman said the arrested man is currently being detained in Finglas under the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act.

"A number of searches were carried out in the North Dublin area and cash in excess of €500,000 was seized.

"A 60 year old male was arrested for an offence under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act, 1996 and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Finglas Garda Station."
