More than 50 new cases of coronavirus diagnosed in Leeds

New figures released today show a further 56 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Leeds.

They are among 613 new cases of coronavirus in Yorkshire and the Humber.

By far the largest number of cases is in Sheffield, with 1,553.

The lowest number of confirmed cases is in York, which has 160.

The area with the highest number of confirmed cases is Kent, with 2,193.

Today, the government said there had been 5,526 more cases confirmed across the UK. Overall, there are 114,217 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

Some 888 further deaths in UK hospitals have been confirmed today - meaning 15,464 people in total have died in UK hospitals after testing positive for the virus.

Calderdale - was 177 now 183

Doncaster - was 247 now 263

East Yorkshire - was 300 now 312

Hull - was 201 now 225

Kirklees - was 395 now 410

Leeds - was 784 now 840

North Yorkshire - was 564 now 591

Rotherham - was 429 now 453

Sheffield - was 1,474 now 1,553

Wakefield - was 371 now 385

York - still 160
