A further 180 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, according to the latest government data.
This brings the total number of deaths in the UK to 139,326.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 164,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of Friday morning, there had been a further 49,298 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
Earlier this week, the highest number daily deaths since March were reported - a further 223 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.
Today, data from the UK Health Security agency revealed the average R rate for coronavirus in England is estimated to be between 1 and 1.2.
An R value between 1 and 1.2 means that, on average, every 10 people infected with Covid will go on to infect between 10 and 12 other people.
Meanwhile, SAGE scientists have urged the government to act early with Covid-19 Plan B restrictions, to reduce the need for more stringent measures later this winter.
