More than £400k funding up for grabs for Dundee groups and community projects

More than £400k is up for grabs for community groups across Tayside to help ‘develop a culture of mental health wellbeing’.

The cash has been ring-fenced for groups across the region to improve awareness of how people can ‘ stay well and help each other ’.

Recently more than £25k has been given to local initiatives such as karate classes and debt advice.

In Dundee the funding will be distributed by the city’s Third Sector Interfaces or TSI.

The group is a partnership between the Dundee Social Enterprise Network and Duneee Volunteer and Voluntary Action.

The round one deadline passed on 10 December with projects already underway.

The next deadline closes on 17 January and local groups are being encouraged to apply.

Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action Chief Executive Officer, Eric Knox, confirmed there is a total of more than £400k to be distributed.

He said: “I think this is a really positive development, the idea is this funding goes straight out into communities, out to the people who need it most.”

- Adult community based groups can apply for the funding here.
