More than 40 youths stopped by police for anti-social behaviour on Metrolink

More than 40 youths were stopped by police on the Metrolink last night for anti-social behaviour.

Officers said they 'disrupted' at least 40 young people causing trouble on the trams near Failsworth.

They said parents 'often have no idea their kids travel so far', but that officers are 'happy to reunite them either at the platform or at home'.

A tweet posted by GMP Oldham at around 7.50pm on Friday said: "Hello, Hello, Hello #GMPTransportUnit @MCRMetrolink.

"Failsworth again and in a few hours we've disrupted 40 plus youths causing ASB.

"Often parents who collect have no idea their kids travel so far but we're happy to reunite them either at the platform or at home. #GmTravelSafe."
