More than 36,000 jabs, 50 vaccination clinics and one very proud team – vaccine hub celebrates reaching milestones

A vaccine hub in Trafford has celebrated two major milestones.

The team at the Life Centre in Sale has been working around the clock to get vaccines dished out in the area since December 2020 and celebrated its 50th vaccination clinic.

As of May 28, the centre had given more than 36,000 doses of various covid vaccinations.

In the last two weeks that’s crept up even further to more than 38,000 individual doses given.

The Life Centre tweeted: “Wow, 50 clinics! Well done to the NHS staff and all the volunteers, we couldn’t have done it without you.”

Sale Primary Care Network added: “Absolutely brilliant team effort. Well done everyone.”

And the Sale network is not the only one celebrating.

Altrincham’s primary care network got a shout out from Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College too.

Their year 12 student Theo has been helping out with jabs St John’s Medical Practice, where his dad Dr Maz Sangha is partner.

St John’s Medical team replied: “Theo is a wonderful young man- delighted he is helping us out.”

Dr Maz Sangha added: “The whole covid vaccination programme has shown great community spirit and a great team effort from Altrincham Healthcare Alliance and staff and amazing volunteers. Bringing hope to all of us after such a traumatic year.”

Altrincham Healthcare Alliance and Sale Primary Care Network have both regularly been delivering hundreds of vaccines per day.

On May 29 alone Altrincham Healthcare Alliance delivered more than 900 jabs to residents of Altrincham and the surrounding area.

In April, Trafford’s health bosses announced that, thanks to the borough’s health team’s monumental efforts, almost half of the Trafford’s adult population had already received both their first and second doses of the vaccine.

At a public engagement board meeting, Sara Radcliffe of Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group gave an update to Trafford council.

She said: “Everyone’s been working really, really hard. We’re now at close to 50pc of the population having had their first and second vaccination. That’s really good news for us.

“In those top nine [vulnerability] cohorts, we’re now at around 88pc of members of those groups have been vaccinated, so again that’s really good news for those people who are most in need.”
