More than 300 people have been busted driving after having too much to drink in NSW during the Easter long weekend.
The NSW Police Easter Operation ran from 12.01am on Thursday until 11.59pm on Monday, with double demerits in place for speeding, seatbelt, phone and helmet offences.
Some 310 people were sprung over the blood-alcohol limit.
Among them is a 40-year-old Toyota driver who blew 0.184 - more than three times the limit - at 8.30am on Easter Sunday.
He was pulled over near Wellington and will appear in court in two weeks on a high-range drink-driving charge.
A 23-year-old blew 0.126 after being caught driving 155km/h in a 100km/h zone near Taree on Monday evening. He's never held a NSW driver's licence and had already been disqualified from holding one until mid-2022. He's now facing three criminal charges.
"It's disappointing that there are still people in the community who aren't getting the message and are putting themselves and others at risk with reckless behaviour," Assistant Commissioner Karen Webb said.
Five people died in crashes on NSW roads over the long weekend, two more than last year.
