More than 30 people found living in crammed three-bedroom house in Harrow

More than 30 people were found living in a crammed three-bedroom house in north-west London, a new Channel 5 documentary has revealed.

Housing officers discovered that people would sleep on mattresses in the property, as well as in a shed and tent in the back garden.

The mattresses would then be stacked away for the day, before being brought out again each night.

During the inspection - filmed for the programme Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords - staff found there still was not enough space to sleep all the occupants.

In the episode, which aired on Tuesday, housing officer Ozge Albayrak is told on arrival that 15 people lived inside.

The inspection saw staff discover stacks of dirty mattresses in Harrow (Channel 5)

But later, it is confirmed to be around 30 tenants as trucks pull up outside to deliver more mattresses for the occupants to sleep on.

She said: “It’s the classic case. Mattresses on top of each other, so they line them up.

“That’s how they fit so many people in.”

Ms Albayrak later rang the letting agent before returning to the property after three months.

At this time, only one family were living inside but conditions soon spiralled into chaos again as more people started to move in and complaints were filed again.
